Frequently Asked Questions

What is the City Design Challenge?

Our City Design Challenge is a fun hackathon-styled event. You and up to 3 other group members will work together to solve a civil issue within the GTA. This issue can be road problems, environmental concerns, or safety concerns as well. You will have 36 hours to create either a technological solution, or a policy/bylaw presentation for our judges to evaluate. Judges whom are from different sectors of the city will judge your presentation based off how innovate, feasible, and impactful it is, and winners will be announced shortly after.

When is this happening?

The City Design Challenge is planned to take place in the fall season of 2024. Follow us on our social media for updates on when you can register!

What experience do I need?

No prior experience is required! Our event is designed to be as beginner friendly as possible, while still providing a challenge to more elite coders or public speakers.

Is this online or in-person?

This year, our event will be entirely virtual. Hackers will submit their project to our Devpost after the 36 hour time limit, where the judges will evaluate them and decide which ones are the best.
